Each year, around 800 babies are born in Jersey and for most, pregnancy is a joyous experience, bringing new life into the world. But some families do not get to take their much-wanted babies home and instead they are left with heartbreak.
Memories matter, we really know how important they are. To that end, we gift bespoke memory boxes, offer a listening ear and hold an annual remembrance service to anyone who needs comfort.
In 2015, the charity made a heartfelt decision – to reduce the number of memory boxes we give out.
Why? Because behind every memory box is a family grieving the loss of a baby, and many parents tell us the same thing that we at the charity felt: “We just don’t want others to go through what we did.”
That simple wish became the start of something powerful – our Safer Pregnancy Projects, created to promote safer pregnancies and better birth outcomes for babies in Jersey.
