26th November: Lights of Love Remembrance Service

Lights of Love

The Grand Suite, The Grand Hotel

If you are attending, or just think you might, please help us track numbers by completing this very short form .

The event is open from 7pm to enable everyone to complete their ‘before the service’ items, for a 7:30pm start.

Our Lights of Love candlelit remembrance service is held in late November, before the hectic festive period begins and offers bereaved families the opportunity to come together, remember our babies and children and honour their existence. Everybody is welcome, especially anyone affected by the loss of a child, at any age, gestation and no matter how long ago.

Before the service you are invited to:-

  • Star tags: write a personal message and hang on our Christmas tree
  • Roll of Remembrance: write down your baby or child’s name to be read out during the service
  • Be one of five volunteers to light a special candle during our ‘Five Candles for You’ poem, read just before everyone is invited to the front to light a candle.

The Remembrance Service helps me to hear her name read out loud annually, and that means more than words can say.

A short service led by Celebrant Kenan Osborne, includes hymns, carols and non-religious readings. The Progressive School of Music choir will join us for the service, and sing during candle-lighting.

If you cannot attend but would like any of the above to be done in memory of your baby or child, please do let us know on .

During the service, a small gift is given out to hang on your Christmas tree and we hope you will stay for refreshments afterwards. If you would make to make a donation there will be a collection tin available.

Details will be also shared on our social media nearer the time.
