Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (Molar Pregnancy)

A molar pregnancy is not because of anything you did, or didn’t, do. It is a rare complication which can make it harder to find support.

We’re so sorry that you’re going through this and understand that a little life is not a little loss. The truth is that our hopes and dreams, love and yearning for a baby, our ’emotional investment’ can begin before we are even pregnant. And when we lose that baby, it really hurts. We may grieve for our baby and the loss of the future we may have planned, an entire life that should have been.

There is no sliding scale of grief, you only know that this baby was real and your grief is valid and real. And we at Philip’s Footprints acknowledge that grief.

It’s not known exactly what causes this, but sadly your pregnancy can’t survive.

As well as offering support, we can also signpost you to the following charities with helpful information and further support.
