Whether your embryos didn’t make it, your transfer failed, or you are unable to use your embryos for another reason. Or despite support with your fertility and doing all that you can, you still didn’t get pregnant.
We’re so sorry that you’re going through this and understand that our hopes and dreams, love and yearning for a baby, our ’emotional investment’ can begin long before we are even pregnant.
There is no sliding scale of grief, whether you had created a little life and sadly lost it or it hadn’t come to be this time, we know that your grief and sense of loss is very real. And we at Philip’s Footprints acknowledge that grief.
If you’ve gone through IVF and haven’t conceived, you may be wondering how to grieve. If you don’t know how to process this painful event, you’re not alone. Many couples experience deep bereavement when their fertility treatments don’t work out. Many fertility clinics offer counselling sessions – these counsellors usually specialise in fertility treatment and there is a hospital-based counsellor that you can access.
We are here to support you and can also signpost you to Tiny Seeds, another local charity who offers support to those experiencing infertility and undergoing fertility treatment.
