We’re so sorry that you’re going through this. A little life is not a little loss. The truth is our hopes and dreams, love and yearning for a baby, our ’emotional investment’ can begin before we are even pregnant. And when we lose that baby, it really hurts. We may grieve for our baby and the loss of the future we may have planned, an entire life that should have been.
This heartbreaking decision leaves many feeling ashamed, stigmatised, that people won’t understand. Even within the safety of the baby loss community, it can be hard for parents to feel they can share without judgement although this could not be further from the truth. It can often remain an unspoken loss.
